In 1912, when Severino Artioli began working in a shoemaker’s workshop in Ferrara, he likely never imagined that over a century later, his surname would still be etched into some of the world’s most beautiful and prestigious shoes. He probably never envisioned that his son Vito, followed by his nephew Andrea, would carry the same passion and dedication to grow the family business—Calzaturificio Star SpA (Star Shoe Factory)—based in Tradate, in the province of Varese.
Like all great artisanal traditions, this is a story passed down from father to son over three generations. The secrets first learned by founder Severino Artioli are still alive today, lovingly preserved and practiced by his son Vito, who continues to work side-by-side with his own son, Andrea.
With a vision to elevate the craft, Severino Artioli meticulously studied foot anatomy and walking dynamics to create the Star Shoe Factory. He worked extensively with leather to select only the finest materials—those with the best overall performance in durability, comfort, breathability, and thermal insulation.
Today, under Andrea’s leadership and with the support of his father Vito, Artioli offers a refined product range that includes classic moccasins, Richelieu, Derby shoes, boots, and even a luxury sneaker line—perfectly suited to the modern man who embraces a more casual, sporty look without ever compromising on elegance.
